Middle Eastern cities face serious sustainability issues due to desert climates, food import dependency, and limited green spaces. This project proposes the use of smart eco-greenhouses in urban communities to grow fresh vegetables locally, reduce carbon emissions, and improve public health. The system features automated irrigation, hydroponics, and solar-powered climate control, with a retractable photovoltaic roof that opens at night to support natural ventilation and enhance photosynthesis, helping improve air quality in dense urban areas. Designed for both community and home use, the greenhouses are managed by local service teams or residents with remote support. The project aims to improve food security, create green jobs, and promote sustainable urban living, aligning with UN SDGs such as Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Sustainable Cities (SDG 11), and Climate Action (SDG 13). A pilot program will evaluate its technical, social, and environmental impact in real-world urban settings.
