Selected aspects of women's employment in the aviation sector

  • 1. Polish Air Force University

Description

Recent decades have witnessed a significant increase in women's labour force participation and their growing presence in areas previously dominated by men. These changes are part of a broader trend in the transformation of the labour market structure, involving the gradual disappearance of the traditional gender-based division of occupations. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse factors influencing the shaping of women's working environment in the aviation sector. Particular attention was paid to the diagnosis of trends and determinants of women's participation in selected aviation-related professions, with particular emphasis on operational and technical occupations.
The analysis includes both aspects affecting the recruitment, adaptation and career development processes of women in the sector. Also discussed are the multidimensional interactions shaping the work environment, including equality policies, the availability of tools to support training, and issues related to the reconciliation of professional and private roles. Presenting the above issues in a scientific perspective allows for a better understanding of the socio-organisational mechanisms determining structural changes in employment, and enables reflection on further directions for the development of an inclusive labour market in aviation.
