SOLWEIG v2025 test dataset

  • 1. University of Gothenburg, Department of Earth Sciences

Description

Test dataset for SOLWEIG v2025, a version of SOLWEIG that includes a new parameterization scheme for wall surface temperatures (http://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15309384).

kolumbus.csv includes observed and simulated wall surface temperatures on one wooden and one plastered brick wall at 10-minute temporal resolution for 2023-05-15 – 2023-08-31. The observations have been made with an Apogee SI-111 Research Grade Standard Field of View Infrared Radiometer Sensor positioned approximately 10 cm from the wall surfaces. The simulated wall surface temperatures are from the SOlar and LongWave Environmental Irradiance Geometry model (SOLWEIG), forced with the metdata files.

The met forcing data in the metdata files, except for air temperature and relative humidity, are from a weather station located on top of the old Department of Earth Sciences, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden (57.6883°, 11.9663°). Air temperature and relative humidity was measured with a TinyTag in a sheltered area in the courtyard next to courtyard where the walls are located. Global and diffuse shortwave radiation was measured for a horizontal surface with an SPN1 Delta-T Sunshine Pyranometer, meaning that the direct component is also for a horizontal surface.

The geodata (geodata.zip) contains dsm, dem, cdsm and groundcover data for the courtyard. The data originates from the Building and Planning Office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
