Possibilities and Limits in the Social-Emotional Development of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Description
The article starts from the question of parents, but also of the educational community, regarding the existence or non-existence of possibilities for the socio-emotional development of children with autism spectrum disorders. The answer developed on a conceptual and praxiological basis highlights the fact that there are several possibilities that must be capitalized on and difficulties or limits that must be overcome in order to ensure autonomy, independence and social integration. From this perspective, all existing possibilities help us to permanently connect to the needs of the child. And by capitalizing on the existing potential, the limits that stand in the way of the socio-emotional development of children can be overcome. In methodological terms, the need to apply personalized strategies is imposed from a sufficiently young age. Their efficiency depends on the capacity of specialists to collaborate effectively with all family members. The partnership initiated managerially and intensified psychologically allows ensuring the constancy and continuity of the entire process of socio-emotional development of children with autism spectrum disorders.
