Description

Deliverable D7.4 captures the final maturation of CLS INFRA’s Work Package 7 (WP7): „Building the Ecosystem of and for Programmable Corpora. Since the earlier conceptual reports, the team has stabilised the DraCor platform and extended the “programmable corpora” model into a standards-compliant, extensively documented service. Central is DraCorAPI v 1.0, whose version-prefixed paths, harmonised entity names and machine-readable OpenAPI description give scholars a reliable, citable interface to more than twenty drama corpora from (mostly) European languages with almost 4.000 plays. An accompanying ODD schema and emerging ontology aims to make every feature traceable from TEI source to JSON response. To widen interoperability, DraCor now implements Distributed Text Services (DTS) endpoints. During the last project phase, WP 7 has also broadened the internal and external tool stack: Two DraCor specific internal tools were introduced: EzDrama streamlines TEI encoding via a lightweight markup that can be converted automatically, and Who-is? semi-automates the identifications of characters and the editing of character lists, accelerating corpus onboarding and quality control. With the implementation of a ToolTab in the DraCor front end, we now enable the direct input of texts from DraCor to the external tools Voyant Tools, CLARIN Language-Resource Switchboard, and Gephi Lite. Together these advances transform an experimental prototype into a sustainable European infrastructure for computational literary studies.
