BIM base buidling permit – Accessibility, operational safety and official information retrieval use cases – Demonstration cases in Finland

This training material provides an overview of the use cases 1, 2 and 4 tested in two demonstration buildings in Finland. The first use case covers the retrieval and handling of general official information about the building and the construction process. The second and fourth use cases cover Accessibility and Operational Safety compliance checking. The ACCORD rule formalisation tool translates building code parameters into machine-readable rules so the model can be checked against the building code regulations (Compliance checking). Use case 3 is the whole life cycle carbon (CO2) calculation tool presented in another training material. 

Target group:

This training material targets building authorities, architects and applicants. 

Learning objectives:

• Knowledge of the ACCORD demonstration on the tools for retrieving official information from BIM models and compliance checking tools for accessibility and safety.  

• Understanding Finnish use cases 1,2 and 4 methodology and services set up. 

• Awareness of the challenges and opportunities from the feedback given by authorities and architects.
