Description

The people, no matter what the situation or time, have managed to turn their pain into words and have been able to express their words poetically. They have been able to say words appropriate to every ceremony. They have said, laughed, and played at weddings, and have sung heart-wrenching laments during mourning, trying to ease their pain with their words. The bayats and laments of our more than half a million brothers and sisters from Kirkuk, who, by fate's decree, have tasted the pain of exile and have expressed their pain and sorrow in the vicinity of Kirkuk, Erbil, and Mosul, also speak volumes about the similarity of our pain and joy
