CHIANTI Technical Report No. 34: The CHIANTI Total Ionization Rate Files (diparams, easplups)

Description

This document describes how the total ionization rate coefficient for an ion is computed within the CHIANTI software, and gives the formats of the relevant data files (diparams and easplups).

CHIANTI consists of a critically evaluated set of up-to-date atomic data, together with user-friendly programs written in Interactive Data Language (IDL) and Python to calculate the spectra from astrophysical plasmas.
