Authors/Creators

Description

Currently, there is limited research on talent development programs between Guangdong and Taiwan. This study employs document analysis and comparative research methods to analyze the curriculum systems of human resource management undergraduate programs at Z University in Guangdong and K University in Taiwan. The aim is to identify the differences and distinctive features in talent development and curriculum planning between universities in Guangdong and Taiwan, which can foster mutual learning and serve as a reference for both sides, ultimately contributing to the further development of human resources between Guangdong and Taiwan. The study yields the following findings: (1) in terms of talent development curriculum planning, K University offers more diverse options than Z University. Its specialized courses are structured hierarchically, with a variety of choices, and emphasize the diversified development of students in professional fields. (2) K University offers more core professional courses than Z University and organizes them into subcategories. (3) regarding professional courses, Z University focuses exclusively on the six core areas of human resource management, emphasizing talent development centered on technical skills. In contrast, K University expands its curriculum to include international perspectives, cross-cultural issues, and management of organizational employee relations. (4) in practical course planning, Z University places a stronger emphasis on practical experience than K University. However, it needs to realign its curriculum to better meet the talent needs of industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
