Redefining Racism: Toward a Moral and Scientific Understanding
Authors/Creators
Description
The definition of racism is critical for combating it and advancing the scientific understanding of race-related issues. However, the prevailing Western definition—belief in racial differences and hierarchy—is scientifically inaccurate and morally deficient. A new definition, grounded in insights into human genetic diversity and morality, is urgently needed. By comparing Western and Eastern core values—freedom versus moral integrity—it becomes clear that omitting morality from the definition of racism is itself immoral. We propose that racism is better defined as acting immorally toward other races, encompassing evils like colonialism and enslavement.
