Student Satisfaction on Canteen Services: A Quantitative Study
Description
Abstract
The quality of canteen services significantly affects students’ overall school experience, including their social interactions, health, and academic performance. However, many school canteens face challenges related to food quality, pricing, hygiene, and service efficiency, leading to dissatisfaction among students. This study aims to assess the current state of canteen services in a private school in Davao City, Philippines, identifying key areas for improvement. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing surveys distributed to students to evaluate their level of satisfaction and identify specific concerns regarding food quality, service speed, and overall dining experience. The findings indicate that while students appreciate affordability, issues such as long waiting times, inconsistent food quality, and limited menu options affect their satisfaction. The study concludes that improving food variety, ensuring consistent quality, and enhancing service efficiency will lead to greater student satisfaction. Addressing these concerns will require better resource management, staff training, and adherence to food safety standards. It is recommended that the school administration implement a feedback mechanism to regularly assess and address student concerns, ensuring continuous improvement in canteen services.
