Description

Table 6. Comparisons of the rodent and tenrecid faunal lists of Children’s Cave (this work) to the sites of Lavajaza (Denys et al. 2021), Andrahomana (MacPhee 1987; Goodman et al. 2007; Burney et al. 2008) and Ankilitelo (Muldoon et al. 2009). Notes on species recorded from Andrahomana: a Microgale brevicaudata listed by Burney et al. (2008) is more likely to be M. macpheei; b Microgale principula was recorded by MacPhee (1987) and Microgale longicaudata by Burney et al. (2008) but because of similarities in dentition, it is possible that the two species have been confused and only one of these taxa is represented. Note on Lavajaza: information is only available on Rodentia from this site, no observations were made on Tenrecidae.
