REHABILITATION PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY (PDLs) IN NORTH COTABATO DISTRICT JAIL MALE AND FEMALE DORMITORIES

Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) face numerous challenges during their incarceration, particularly regarding rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Rehabilitation programs are critical in addressing these challenges and ensuring the successful reintegration of PDLs into their communities. The quantitative descriptive-correlational research design was used. This study aimed to determine the demographic profile of the PDLs, the level of rehabilitation programs, if there was a significant relationship between the implementation level and the extent of problems encountered on the rehabilitation programs for the Persons Deprived of Liberty in North Cotabato District Jail Male and Female Dormitories. This study found out that the implementation level of the rehabilitation programs is high and there was a significant relationship between the implementation level and the extent of issues encountered on the rehabilitation programs for PDLs. This study recommended increasing the fund support for rehabilitation programs, prioritize staff training for quality service delivery and improve jail facilities for a better learning environment. Moreover, expanding livelihood programs will provide marketable skills, while access to educational resources is essential for academic growth. Structured recreational activities can foster camaraderie and fitness. Finally, implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation framework will ensure ongoing assessment and improvements, and aiding successful reintegration into society.
