Description

The dataset used in this study comprises cross-sectional data from 38 OECD countries, capturing various socioeconomic, environmental, and health-related indicators relevant to physical activity (PA) levels across three distinct age groups: adolescents, adults, and older adults (70+). The variables included in the dataset are as follows:

Physical Activity Levels:

Adolescent: PA level among individuals aged 10–19.

Adult: PA level among individuals aged 20–69.

Adult_70_Plus: PA level among individuals aged 70 and older.

Socioeconomic Indicators:

GDP: Gross Domestic Product per capita (USD).

HealthSpending: Government health expenditure as a percentage of GDP.

Sport_Facilities: Availability of sports and recreational facilities (per 100,000 people).

Hours_Worked: Average annual working hours per employed person.

InternetUsage: Percentage of population using the internet.

UrbanPop: Urban population as a percentage of total population.

Health and Environmental Risk Factors:

BMI_Obesity_Children10_18: Prevalence of obesity in children and adolescents aged 10–18 (%).

BMI_Adult18: Prevalence of obesity among adults aged 18 and over (%).

AirPollutionDALY10_19Age, AirPollutionDALY20PlusAge, AirPollutionDALY70PlusAge: Air pollution-related Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) per 100,000 population in age-specific groups.

SmokingDALY20PlusAge, SmokingDALY70PlusAge: Smoking-related DALYs for adults and older adults, respectively.

The dataset aggregates publicly available indicators from internationally recognized sources including the World Health Organization (WHO), OECD Health Statistics, and the World Bank.
