Earning the appellation of a sensuous poet, John Keats emerged as one of the most revered Romantic poets. He has composed six odes in the year 1819 which are highly revered in British literature. “To Autumn” is an ode that has been accoladed for its use of rich imagery that savour the human mind. The paper attempts to study the imagery where Keats has played with sensuous elements, enriching the readers with the autumn season and its abundance. The paper shall also give a discourse on rhetorical techniques that aid in triggering the human senses to fully capture the essence of seasonal and old life experiences embedded in the ode. The ode seems to play with the images that constitutes the seasonal beauty yet it also foregrounds the underlying truth about human life via the help of imagination.
