Breaking Up with Commercial Academic Publishing
Description
The New Year is a time for celebration. It is a time filled with high hopes and new possibilities. It is a time for reflection and a time for setting goals and aspirations for the months that follow. As we dive deeper into 2025, I've decided that one of my professional goals (for 2025 and beyond) will be to minimize my interaction with commercial academic publishers and to more fully support non-profit and community-led alternatives. This post attempts to explain why.
