Assessment of Quality Work Life and its Associated Factors among Nurses in Government Hospitals

ABSTRACT
Background: The extent to which employees are able to meet their personal needs at work is called "quality of working life". The study aimed to assess the quality of life of nurses working in government hospitals and related factors. Methods: From 15th December 2022 to 15th May 2023, 500 nurses in hospitals in Mosul were surveyed in cross-sectional study design. The convenience sampling technique was used to selected the participants. The data are entered in Excel and then exported to the statistical package for social sciences, version 26, for analysis. Results: A total of 500 nurses participated in the study. The survey revealed that about 53.8% of nurses have a moderate working life. Important relationships exist between the quality of work, the years of experience (0.031), age (0.04), gender (0.09) and nurse educational level (0.02). Conclusions: Almost half of nurses are not satisfied with the quality of their working lives. our study revealed that years of experience show a significant relationship with the quality of life in work. The promotion and maintenance of a higher level of nursing professional life is the key to promoting employee satisfaction and improving the quality of patient care.
