BETANIN- PROPERTIES & THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS

Description

With the enhanced researches and studies upon phytochemicals, it is
being found that phytomedicines can prove to be safer and equivalently
active as synthetic medicines. And since, there are numerous such
phytochemicals been found and still are being researched which are
having various vital therapeutic activities, whether it is antiviral or
anticancer, phytochemicals can treat such disease conditions with
equivalent effect along with minimal side effects. Thus, demand and
researches upon phytomedicines are increasing day by day. One of
such vital phytochemical is Betanin, found mostly in beetroot, which
has found to have many additive action such as colourant, pH indicator

as well as therapeutical activity such as anticancer, antidiabetic, antimicrobial activities. In
this article, a detailed review upon various therapeutical activities along with its mechanism
and benefit in comparison to synthetic drug for such disease conditions have been discussed.
