Description

This research note summarizes results from the DiversiTree project which explored the implications of tree species diversification in Sitka spruce forests on biodiversity.  In particular it provides

  • information on the biodiversity associated with Sitka spruce
  • assesses the potential of a range of other tree species to support the same biodiversity as found on Sitka spruce
  • explores what additional biodiversity might be supported by mixed plantings of Sitka spruce with other tree species
  • discusses the management implicaitons of the work.
