Future Wetland Methane Model Intercomparison (FUMEMIP)

Authors/Creators

Description

This dataset provides global methane (CH₄) emissions from wetlands generated within the FUMEMIP (Future Methane Model Intercomparison Project). It includes multi-model simulations of annual wetland methane fluxes for the period 2006–2099 at 0.5° spatial resolution, driven by multiple Earth System Model climate forcings under the transient scenario.

The dataset contains gridded NetCDF files from several terrestrial ecosystem models, as well as derived regional and global aggregated time series (CSV format), including:

- Global and zonal (tropics (30S-30N), extratropics (90S-30S), temperate (30N-60N), boreal (60N-90N)) methane emissions. Unit: Tg CH4 yr-1.

- Gridded CH4 emissions in NetCDF. Unit: kg CH4 m-2 yr-1.

- Probability estimates of wetland methane–climate feedback derived from the emergent constraint analysis. The file provides probabilistic estimates of future decadal methane feedback magnitudes. See Fig. 3a in the associated manuscript for details. Unit: Tg CH4.

For questions regarding the dataset, please contact Zhen Zhang (zhenzhang@itpcas.ac.cn). Users are kindly encouraged to contact the author regarding their intended use of the dataset to ensure appropriate interpretation and application.
