Description

This repository provides access to a database of 36 stone masonry wall microstructures, including 24 virtual walls and 12 real walls. The dataset is structured for easy access to individual wall microstructures, rendered visualizations, and detailed geometric properties of individual stones. A README file outlines the dataset structure and folder contents.

Additionally, the repository includes an Excel file, MasonryMicrostructureDatabase.xlsx, which contains computed geometric parameters and properties of each wall. It also provides classification based on the Italian Technical Building Code and the Geometric Masonry Quality Index. MATLAB files for computing geometric parameters of the microstructures are available at: eesd-epfl/MasonryIndex-3D.

An interactive web-based platform for this data is available at: https://mmsdb.epfl.ch/

This dataset corresponds to the journal paper Database and Geometrical Characterization of 3D Stone Masonry Wall Microstructures (Accepted, Earthquake Spectra ).
