Description

CRIRES+ and CARMENES reduced spectroscopic observations of TOI-2109

This records contains the reduced data as used in the publication of Cont et al. 2025 "Retrieving day- and nightside atmospheric properties of the ultra-hot Jupiter TOI-2109b. Detection of Fe and CO emission lines and evidence for inefficient heat transport" currently in press with Astronomy & Astrophysics and available as preprint on arXiv.

The data reduction steps for CRIRES+ and CARMENES data are explained in sect. 2 of the article

CRIRES+ data

The CRIRES+ data is following the same format as other records such as https://zenodo.org/records/11637332. The CRIRES+ data files are the following :

  • 240408_TOI2109.pickle
  • 240408_TOI2109_order1.pickle
  • 240409_TOI2109.pickle
  • 240409_TOI2109-order1.pickle
  • 240526_TOI2109.pickle
  • 240526_TOI2109-order1.pickle

The standard files for each date are named YYMMDD_TOI2109.pickle. They contain the full spectrum, except the part of the first spectral order on the left-most detector. That wavelength segment is not reduced by default by the pipeline because it is slightly out of the detector on one of the nodding position. We used a custom reduction to be able to reduce this order, and it is contained in the YYMMDD_TOI2109-order1.pickle files. The reduction was done on a restricted fraction of the slit.

CARMENES data

The CARMENES reduced spectra are in the TOI2109.zip archive. The archive contains a README file (README_TOI2109.txt) explaining the data.
