Integrated Infrastructure for Open Science
Description
To realise the vision of Open Science and achieve its goals, Open Science practices must be integrated into the scientific workflow. With appropriate infrastructure, including hardware, software, and personal support, research institutes enable their researchers to effortlessly comply with legal and regulatory requirements (such as the GDPR), institutional policies (on data management, ethics, and security), Open Science principles (such as FAIR data and software), and Research Integrity codes of conduct (promoting transparency and traceability).
Relevant infrastructures include open scholarly communication (OSC), research data management (RDM), and open research information (ORI). Each of these infrastructures is made up of multiple components, many of which are shared across them. Ultimately, they form a single, comprehensive, and integrated infrastructure, as explained in this document.
