Description

This dataset was constructed within the CoBRA project (Cow Behaviour Recording and Analysis) and contains 11.438 animal segments of Holstein cattle which are sorted according to their behaviour (standing, lying left or lying right) and identity.

Each image file is accompanied by a .json file containing metadata: identity, behaviour, image filename and spine angle. The spine angle describes the orientation (in degrees) of the animal's spine, evaluated from the camera's perspective.

Additionally, the file "id_stratification.csv" contains a stratification of the animal identities into 6 groups, based on their main colour (red or black) and the amount of white in the coat.  For black Holstein animals, animals with less than 20% white in their coat are considered black (b), animals which have between 20% and 80% white in their coat are considered black & white (bw) and animals which have more than 80% white in their coat are considered white & black (wb). Analogously, red Holstein animals are categorised into red (r), red & white (rw) and white & red (wr) animals.
