Description

In this study, Iğdır University ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certification Studies, initiated and managed by Iğdır University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı ALMA in 2024 and carried out by Asst. Prof. Dr. Emin Taner ELMAS, the scientific and technical methods used and the results of the study are explained. All work was carried out within project management principles.

There is a Solar Power Plant – GES on the Iğdır University campus regarding on-site production and renewable energy systems. The annual radiation amount falling on Iğdır Province is 1550-1600 kWh/m²-year per 1 m² area. Considering that the country average is 1350 kWh/m²-year, Iğdır is one of the most suitable provinces for suitable production conditions for investing in solar energy. It is anticipated that the Grid Parallel Photovoltaic investments made at Iğdır University will pay for themselves within 5 years at most with the current incentives and correctly designed systems. The total production power of Iğdır University Solar Power Plant system is approximately 5006 kWp and has a total capacity of 6,147,261 kWh. In 2022, the electricity consumption of the facility was determined as 3,210,418 kWh. There is an electricity production that is more than its consumption. Research and development studies are constantly being carried out to increase the efficiency of solar panels.

Details of the energy measurement, analysis, evaluation, study, energy saving, energy efficiency and energy management studies at Iğdır University Şehit Bülent Yurtseven Campus are summarized in the method, findings and discussion section of the article, and all available measurement data and all analysis results within the scope of the relevant study can be accessed by examining the whole article.

Within the scope of energy management studies, the Energy Audit Report was prepared for the Rectorate, Vocational School, Faculty of Agriculture and Indoor Sports Hall buildings, Electricity and Natural Gas consumptions for these buildings were measured on an energy basis and analyzed in detail on the basis of time, person, place and total energy consumption was determined. Energy Studies for Heating, Cooling, Ventilation - Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Indoor and Outdoor Lighting, Electrical Distribution Systems, Pumps, Building Automation and Tariff Analysis have also been completed.
