Basilisk and Docker for Streamlined GN&C Simulation
Description
This technical workshop was presented at the 46th Rocky Mountain AAS Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Conference, held in February 2024 in Breckenridge, Colorado. It provides a comprehensive walkthrough for deploying the Basilisk spacecraft simulation framework using Docker containers. Topics include containerization workflows, GN&C module integration, simulation execution, and visualization using Vizard.
The author demonstrates how Docker improves modularity, portability, and version control of spacecraft simulation environments. This material includes example scripts, configuration files, and setup instructions, and is intended for educational and research reuse.
The author was affiliated with both In Orbit Aerospace, Inc. and the Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder (as a Visiting Researcher) at the time of this work. The workshop reflects the author's independent contributions and does not imply institutional endorsement by either organization.
