Description

I have used the dataset for structural analysis of discourse strands including diachronic analysis. The dataset includes translated discourse fragments from 560 news articles on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Actions (JCPOA) published by the Iranian newspaper Kayhan in the post-JCPOA era. The discourse fragments were translated into Persian from various sources, primarily English, with some in French, German, Arabic, and Russian. I have coded 1,324 discourse strands within the dataset. While my previously published dataset (2024) presented the translation choices made by the newspaper (https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/NVGZO7), the present dataset highlights the newspaper’s selective use of information that was allowed to pass its editorial gatekeeping. This dataset is related to my previous publications (2023, 2024). I have also used it for other contributions (forthcoming 2025, 2026).
