GRADIENT OF MODIFIER VERSUS GRADIENTS OF TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE IN HPLC

The presentation describes the effects of temperature and pressure on retention in the HPLC chromatography process. The possibilities of using temperature and pressure gradients as factors enabling the controlling of the retention process and possible instrumentation solutions were presented. A two-dimensional mathematical model of a chromatographic column was shown, taking into account momentum, mass and heat balances, the numerical solution of which allows predicting the column's behavior under temperature and pressure gradients.
