Sleep Wave Analysis Toolbox for Matlab

  • 1. University of Wisconsin

Description

Sleep Wave Analysis (swa) is a toolbox for matlab designed primarily for the detection, analysis and visualisation of the distinct waves found using electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings of sleep; in particular slow waves.

Main features of the toolbox include:

- A user-friendly interface for the manual visual scoring of sleep stages and arousal events of high-density EEG channels.

- A large set of parameter settings for the detection of slow waves during sleep, and their travelling patterns.

- The most optimal sleep spindle detection method currently available.

- A completely novel detection algorithm for saw-tooth waves in REM sleep.

- A set of visualisation functions used to explore the results of detection and analysis and also manually edit certain properties of the waves found.

The most stable version of the toolbox can be found at https://github.com/Mensen/swa-matlab

Within this repository, the 'develop' branch contains the latest version of the software with additional features that may not have been extensively tested.
