Description

This article explores the impact of using authentic materials and real-life
scenarios on the development of intercultural competence among B2 level students.
Conducted at the Nukus State Pedagogical Institute, the research used a quasi-
experimental design with 50 participants divided into control and experimental
groups. The experimental group used authentic resources such as newspaper articles,
podcasts and role-playing activities, while the control group followed a traditional
curriculum. Data was collected through pre-tests, post-tests, observations,
questionnaires and interviews. The results showed a significant improvement in the
intercultural competence of the experimental group, highlighting the effectiveness of
real-world materials in language learning. The article underlines the importance of
integrating authentic resources to enhance students' cultural awareness and
communication skills in a globalized context.
