Understanding the Gap Between Turnover and Turnover Intention: A Narrative Literature Review.

Analyzing resignation behavior is essential for understanding job preferences and the career progression ofworking individuals. However, the previous partial articles exhibited the obscured conception of actual turnoverbehavior and turnover intention. Therefore, an extensive literature review endeavored to examine the current state ofknowledge about the definitions of turnover, the development of turnover research, the definitions of turnover intention,the function of turnover intention as a variable, the distinction between voluntary turnover and turnover intention, andthe discussion of voluntary turnover and turnover intention. This narrative study aims to explicate the relationshipbetween voluntary turnover and turnover intention within one article. It also helps the researcher conceptualize theirprospective utilization of the context in the future.
