EU Standardisation Booster - D4.4 - Final Standards Impact Report

Since April 2022, HSbooster.eu has been piloting the first European Standardisation Booster. In February 2024 the project was granted a no cost extension and then subsequently extended further till March 2025.

The booster has mobilised standardisation experts to guide hundreds of EU-funded projects and beneficiaries to valorise their results by contributing to the creation or revision of standards. The HSbooster.eu project aimed to increase the standardisation impact of projects funded by H2020 and Horizon Europe by designing and implementing a booster initiative. In year one the project completed a number of activities setting up the foundation for the booster and awareness of the project and its objectives. The following year (2023) HSbooster.eu continued its work, increasing awareness, offering support, educating the research and innovation community and creating as much impact as possible.

It was then following a review in February 2024 that the project would be given a no cost extension to continue this work as there was evidence that HSbooster.eu was growing in momentum and it would be beneficial for the project and the EU to continue with this work till September 2024. Following a review of the budget the consortium proposed a cost extension for 6 months till March 2025. To do this, HSbooster.eu has designed and delivered a matrix of support services for projects at different stages of their lifecycle and with different levels of knowledge and expertise in standardisation.

D4.4 “Final Standards Impact Report – provides a comprehensive overview of the key achievements, final update on communications, dissemination, exploitation and training activities in the HSbooster.eu project. It reports on activities to date and provides and challenges, while highlighting the value and influence of the efforts undertaken.

As the project comes to a close, it is time to reflect on the significant impact of the HSbooster.eu project and the tools that have been delivered during its life cycle including the Standards Catalogue, the Standards Operating Tool, and the Smiley Training Game to name but a few. Showing statistics on the impact across the services and the support that has been given to both experts and project through 1-1 meetings, training webinars and collaborations with SDOs. Further details on all of these impacts
are delivered throughout this report.
