A global dataset of helium isotopic data in tectonically and hydrothermally active geological environments

We present a dataset of helium isotopic composition of present-day fluids released in hydrothermal and tectonically active areas. Building on two global compilations published in 2006 and 2015, we have systematically reviewed the peer‑reviewed international literature to assemble a comprehensive collection of data published up to 2024. This dataset provides a foundation for investigating potential global and macro-regional correlations with key geological and geophysical parameters, thereby advancing our understanding of the role of fluids in diverse geodynamic processes.

A dedicated website (https://hedb.cnr.it/) hosts the current version of the database and its future updates. Through a downloadable submission form available on the site, interested researchers are invited to contribute by adding new datasets or by providing updates and corrections to existing records, ensuring the maintenance and the continuous improvement of the database.
