Piloting of eLTER-ICOS co-operation towards the Climate-Water-GHG nexus at the pan-European scale

This document explores the potential benefits of the eLTER and ICOS Research Infrastructures (RIs) co-location for generating and communicating new insights into the pan European water-climate-GHG nexus. This new knowledge is needed to better constrain estimates of the pan-European GHG emission and carbon footprint and to help build the evidence base needed for decisions related to national and European climate mitigation targets. The document has three components: a conceptual model of RI co-location, an assessment of the potential for co-location and collaboration with ICOS and other entities and a motivation and presentation of a workflow for virtual co-location.
