Η έρευνα για τις αντιλήψεις των ερευνητών και ερευνητριών στα ελληνικά ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα σχετικά με την Ανοικτή Πρόσβαση είναι η δεύτερη εθνικής εμβέλειας έρευνα που εκπονεί η Μονάδα Επιστημονικής Επικοινώνησης του Συνδέσμου Ελληνικών Ακαδημαϊκών Βιβλιοθηκών (ΣΕΑΒ). Στόχος της έρευνας είναι να συλλεχθεί πληροφορία από όλα τα ακαδημαϊκά ιδρύματα για τη γνώση και την άποψη που έχει το ερευνητικό τους προσωπικό και βάσει αυτής να δρομολογήσει τις ανάλογες συστάσεις, πολιτικές και πρακτικές.
Η συλλογή των 1.467 απαντήσεων έγινε σε διάστημα δύο μηνών την άνοιξη του 2024 και η αναλυσή τους εξετάζει τη γνώση, τις προτιμήσεις, τα κριτήρια για τη συμμετοχή τους σε δημοσιεύσεις Ανοικτής Πρόσβασης. Παράλληλα, εστιάζει στη γνώση των προγραμμάτων και υπηρεσιών του ΣΕΑΒ, αλλά και των αποθετηρίων των ιδρυμάτων-μελών.
Από την ανάλυση αυτή προκύπτει ότι το ερευνητικό προσωπικό των ιδρυμάτων-μελών του ΣΕΑΒ γνωρίζει σε έναν μεγάλο βαθμό την Ανοικτή Πρόσβαση, αλλά δεν έχουν μια κατασταλαγμένη προτίμηση για κάποιον από τους δρόμους υλοποίησης της. Παρατηρείται μια μεγάλη εξάρτηση της λήψης των αποφάσεων τους από τον οικονομικό παράγοντα, ενώ φαίνεται οτι ο Σύνδεσμος θα πρέπει να αναλάβει περισσότερες πρωτοβουλίες για την ενημέρωση τους. Συμπεραίνεται επίσης ότι η ποικιλότητα των προσεγγίσεων είναι μεν κατανοητή, αλλά απαιτεί την κατάρτιση και εφαρμογή πολιτικών ώστε να υπάρχει μια συντεταγμένη πορεία που καθιστά τα παράγωγα των ερευνητών/ριών ανοικτά, προβεβλημένα και κατά το δέον καταγεγραμμένα.
Abstract (English)
The survey on the perceptions of the Open Access movement of the researchers in Greek academic institutions is the second national survey conducted by the Scholarly Communication Unit of HEAL-Link, the consortium of Greek academic libraries. The main goal of the survey is to gather information regarding their knowledge and views and, based on this, to put the corresponding recommendations, policies and practices into action.
1,467 responses were collected over a two-month period in the spring of 2024, which were later analysed to examine the level of knowledge of the respondents, their preferences and criteria for publishing in OA mode, as well as their participation in the OA movement. It also focuses on the level of awareness the participants had of the HEAL-Links programs and services, and on their Institutional Repositories.
From the analysis we can conclude that most of the research staff of the participating institutions are largely aware of the OA movement, but do not have a settled preference for any specific option when it comes to implementing it. It's also observed that the decision-making process is highly finance-oriented, while HEAL-Link should play a stronger role when it comes to educating/informing the researchers on such affairs. Lastly, it is concluded that the diversity of approaches is understandable, but it requires preparation and implementation of policies, so that there is a coordinated course that makes the research outputs open, visible, and properly registered.
