The impact of corruption on the economic Growth of somaliland in Hargeisa.

ABSTRACT

 The study will be carried out in Hargeisa, Marodijeh region in Somaliland. The main problem was that General audit did not take much consideration in evaluating the national budget allocation and this has led the national budget to have been stolen. The research type of this study was descriptive study. The main institutions that I targeted were Good Governance and Anti-Corruption Commission (GGACC)an, Ministry of Trade and Investment and Ministry of finance in Hargeisa. I selected sample size from target population and the sample size and  respondents that was questioned are 110 respondents which are derived from Slovenes Formula: through stratified sampling and purposive sampling. Closed-ended questionnaire and un-structured interview were used during this study to collect data from respondents. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed through SPSS and EXCEL. Furthermore, the findings of the study revealed first specific objective was to explore the impact of corruption in government institutions in Hargeisa Somaliland; also, that minister of finance didn’t take part on national budget preparation. Moreover, the second specific objective was to find out the challenges of national budget in ministry of finance in Hargeisa Somaliland and suggested that most of the challenges were luck of accountability, management, transparency and misallocation of sources Furth more that poor national monitoring of budget has led to a massive corruption. The final specific objective was to examine the causes of corruption on national budget in Hargeisa Somaliland.
