COMPARATIVE STUDY OF METAPHOR IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK PROVERBS
Description
This article conducts a comparative study of metaphor through proverbs in English and Uzbek. Proverbs are a rich cultural heritage of the people, and it is important to study how metaphors are reflected in their language, the similarities and differences in the semantic system of both languages. By analyzing proverbs in English and Uzbek, it is possible to determine their metaphorical methods in the language system, a reflection of folk thinking. The article provides detailed information on the methods and techniques of linguistic analysis used in linguistics, as well as the work of Uzbek linguists in this area. This article analyzes the definition, structural features, and social context of metaphors in English and Uzbek.
