Neu ist immer besser? - Texteditionen und digitale Methoden

In diesem kurzen Beitrag zeigen wir an einem kleinen Testkorpus auf, dass die Methoden des Natural Language Processing (NLP) gleiche oder zumindest nahezu gleiche Ergebnisse hervorbringen, auch wenn unterschiedliche Editionen der Untersuchung zugrunde liegen. Anlass ist der in der Fachcommunity verbreitete Gedanke, dass nur die neueste Edition die Grundlage für (literaturwissenschaftliche) Forschung darstellen dürfe. 

In this short article, we use a small test corpus to show that the methods of Natural Language Processing (NLP) produce the same or at least almost the same results, even if different editions serve as the starting point for the study. The reason for this is the widespread idea in the academic community that only the latest edition should constitute the basis for (literary) research.
