Description

This study examines the psychological dimensions of traditional and virtual tourism, with a focus on how personality traits, specifically introversion and extroversion, influence travel preferences and behaviors. Through a systematic literature review and conceptual analysis, the research identifies key psychological factors shaping tourism choices and highlights differences in satisfaction rates, motivations, and activity preferences between personality types. The findings reveal that introverts gravitate toward tranquil, low-interaction settings, favoring virtual tourism’s immersive and solitary experiences, while extroverts thrive in dynamic, socially engaging environments typical of traditional tourism. By incorporating quantitative data and case studies, the study underscores the rapid growth of virtual tourism, driven by advancements in VR and AR technologies, and its potential to complement traditional tourism through hybrid models. Practical recommendations emphasize tailoring experiences to diverse psychological profiles and leveraging technology to create inclusive, sustainable travel options. This research contributes to understanding the interplay between psychology and tourism, offering insights into emerging trends and future opportunities.
