Control of Myf5 activation in adult skeletal myonuclei requires ERK signalling
Description
Muscle regeneration in adults, especially after injury or wear, is a complex process that depends on satellite cells. These cells, which remain inactive under normal conditions, are activated in response to certain stimuli to regenerate damaged muscle tissue. A persistent challenge has been understanding how this activation is regulated in adult skeletal muscle, particularly with regard to intracellular signaling. In this context, the transcription factor Myf5 plays a crucial role in satellite cell activation and muscle differentiation. However, the exact mechanism that regulates its activation in adult muscle nuclei remains an enigma. This study focused on exploring the role of the ERK signaling pathway in the activation of Myf5 within this muscle regeneration process.
