Super-critical accretion of supermassive black holes

  • 1. Dipartimento di Fisica G. Occhialini, Università di Milano-Bicocca

Description

The observation of extremely massive black holes shining as quasars up to z~7.5 requires either large BH seeds or episodes of supercritical accretion. In the poster are reviewed some of the current constraints on supercritical accretion, on how it can be triggered, and on the possibility of observing supercritically growing MBHs.
