ARTE MUSICA EDUCACIÓN: MUSICOTERAPIA Y EDUCACIÓN INCLUSIVA; UNA NUEVA FORMA DE COMUNICACIÓN

  • 1. ROR icon Universidad de Extremadura

Description

The actual stimulus is called the inducer, and the subjective experience it provokes is called the concurrent (Grossenbacher and Lovelace, 2001). The concurrent can vary in nature, from perceptual sensations (color, sound, taste, etc.) to more complex ones such as seeing auras, graphemes or emotional quality (Hochel and Milan, 2008). Based on this variety in the nature of the inducer, Nikolic (2009) proposes a new vision of synesthesia where the concurrent operates at a sensory level while the inducer does so from a semantic level. His proposal includes the creation of a new term (ideaesthesia) for a phenomenon different from synesthesia. Ideaesthesia would be the consistent association between a mental activation of a certain concept or idea and a perceptual experience. We have carried out our work approach with different groups and in different environments: art therapy master's students, courses aimed at older people and other general groups. The general population that has participated in this work is therefore quite heterogeneous in age, level of training and previous experience with body work. Below we present a summary of a series of steps that collect the basics of the intervention process in dance and movement. Music within the educational process is understood as a form of communication based on the language of sound. In this communication, a conceptualization of what music therapy is and its scientific bases within the work of inclusive education will be presented. This branch of Music Therapy and inclusive teaching practices has beneficial effects at both a therapeutic and pedagogical level for children with special educational needs (whether or not associated with disabilities), since it uses musical experiences appropriate to each stage of child development, with the aim of stimulating general evolutionary growth. In inclusive education, its importance is decisive since it can work in both musical and non-musical areas. The objectives are to support the optimization of sensorimotor, cognitive or perceptual skills and to improve the relationships of the individual/patient/student with their socio-family, educational and community environment. Correct implementation of music therapy in formal and non-formal educational centers and contexts dedicated to the areas of inclusive education to address this group of boys and girls will lay the foundations for future experiences of academic and artistic improvement in more efficient processes at all levels: cognitive, motor, affective and creative.
