Second EPOS ICS system portal integration

Description

This deliverable describes the ICS-C system portal integration. The EPOS ICS-C portal is indeed

the front window of a complex system that provides the end user scientific data aggregated from

EPOS Thematic Core Services. In addition to this data level integration and in order to guarantee

functional and non-functional requirements defined in synergy with the EPOS communities, the

portal offers a number of functionalities, for instance a secure layer for accessing the Data portal

(namely Authentication, Authorisation, Accounting Infrastructure - AAAI), that are not built from

the ground up, but integrated from existing resource provider. This second level of integration,

functionality level integration, is exemplified in the case of AAAI and distributed processing.

In the current document we describe how the integration of all assets that compose the EPOS ICS

System portal has been carried out. The described work has involved several team from many

countries and has created synergies between EPOS technical Work Packages, namely WP6 and

WP7, and EPOS community Work Packages, that is to say Wps from 8 to 17.

The description of the strategies for managing, interacting and bringing together such a number of stakeholders with different background and even slightly different cultures cannot be dealt with in

the framework of this deliverable. However, it might be considered an added value and high-value

hidden achievements of the EPOS enterprise.
