Abstract
Skills Needs Assessment (SNA) in Tourism Sector[1] provides valuable insights into the skills’ gaps, skills needs and other related dynamics in the Tourism Sector aiming to serve to education, training, labor market and employment institutions and policies. It provides information on: (a) the profile of the sector; (b) the quality and dynamics of workforce and skills; (c) concerns of the private sector related to recruitment and employment, training and technology, and (d) the followed approaches to deal with the existing concerns.
The SNA findings clearly show that the sector has grown, the sector is optimist about the future growth, while the current profile of the sector as well as the LM concerns and bottlenecks might condition the future growth speed and the quality of the touristic offer. These findings, are an opportunity to increase awareness about the sector and offer arguments for further policy discussions among institutions and stakeholders/actors to unlock the identified potentials. Considering the importance of Tourism and Hospitality (T&H) Sector, NAVETQ has established the SSC, to assist the development/revision/ validation process of the vocational standards from the perspective of private sector needs. The SNA findings are an important input for NAVETQ and SSC.
