Description

The production of traditional blue-white tiles in Iznik began in the 14th century and experienced its golden age in the 16th century. The tile masters of the period produced important works in this regard, while reflecting the era they were in on the one hand, and carrying the cultural codes of the period to the present day with the works they produced. Blue-white tiles left their mark on ceramic art with their patterns and decorations, as well as their forms and production techniques. Blue-white decorated tiles, which were used in daily use, especially as tableware during the Ottoman period, later took on a characteristically multi-colored and different style with the inclusion of various colors in production.
