(Fig. 1)

Type material. Holotype: NHMD 153507 with label ' Ciidae, C. V. Hennigsen / 1-10-1964 ', Danish amber, late Eocene.

Etymology. The epithet of this new species is dedicated to our friend and colleague A.V. Kompantsev (1952–2022) who studied Ciidae.

Description. Body black-brownish, oblong-oval, convex dorsally, glabrous. Clypeus without teeth. Forehead convex, wide, finely punctate. Eyes well protruded, coarsely faceted, 0.7 times as long as wide. Antennae clavate, extend beyond middle of pronotum, ten-segmented. Antennomeres first and second suboval. First antennomere about 1.4 times as long as wide at apex. Second antennomere about 1.2 times as long as wide at apex, about 0.8 times as long as and of same width as antennomere one. Third antennomere long-oval, about 2.5 times as long as wide at apex, slightly longer than and 0.5 times as wide as antennomere two. Fourth antennomere oval, about 1.6 times as long as wide at apex, about 0.6 times as long as and about as wide as antennomere three. Antennomeres four-nine suboval, transverse. Fifth antennomere about 0.9 times as long as wide at apex, about 0.7 times as long as and 1.3 times as wide as antennomere four. Sixth antennomere about 0.6 times as long as wide at apex, slightly shorter than and about 1.2 times as wide as antennomere five. Seventh antennomere about 0.5 times as long as wide at apex, about of same length as and slightly wider than antennomere six. Antennal club consists of antennomeres eight–ten. Eighth antennomere about 0.6 times as long as wide at apex, about 1.6 times as long as and 1.5 times as wide as antennomere seven. Ninth antennomere about 0.6 times as long as wide at apex, about 1.3 times as long as and 1.3 times as wide as antennomere eight. Tenth antennomere cordate, about 1.2 times as long as wide at base, about twice as long as and of same width as antennomere nine. Pronotum almost trapezoid, of same length as wide across apex, about 0.9 times as long as wide across middle and across base. Lateral margins narrow, slightly explanate, visible for their entire lengths from above, lacking bristles. Disc with large and small punctures. Scutellum small, subpentagonal. Elytra oval, with lateral margins subparallel at basal three-fourths, then converging and forming moderately acute apex, widest at middle, 1.8 times as long as wide across base, about 1.6 times as long as wide across middle and across apical fourth, about 2.2 times as long as pronotum, with indistinct humeri. Elytral striae absent. Metaventrite weakly convex, about 2.8 times as long as length of mesocoxal cavity, sparsely punctate. Metepisternum narrow, about 11.3 times as long as its median width, with row of punctures. Abdomen convex. First ventrite about 1.7 times as long as metacoxal cavity. Second ventrite 0.6 times as long as first ventrite. Third ventrite about 0.8 times as long as second ventrite. Fourth ventrite about 1.1 times as long as third ventrite. Fifth ventrite subequal to ventrite four. Legs long. Femora clavate. Protibiae untoothed on the outer edge. Apex of protibiae simply rounded. Tarsi long, four-segmented. Last tarsomere very long. Body length: 1.1 mm.

Comparison. The new species differs from European Orthocis linearis (J. Sahlberg, 1901) in its glabrous body, smaller body size and shorter antennomere 10.
