Mammae numbers and litter sizes in an arboreal rodent

This dataset consists of two tables on nipple counts and litter size in the Edible dormouse.

Table S1. Individual level data of Edible dormouse females in 2013–2015. ID – the identity of the female, Year – a particular year with reproductive event, Prop.beech – % of beech trees around the maternal nest box,  tibia – length of tibia in mm, Nipple.count  – number of active nipples, Litter.size – number of pups at birth.

 Table S2. Counts of active mammae (in lactation) of Edible dormouse females over their lifetimes in 2013–2022. Litter – order of the litter within a female´s life, ID – the identity of the female, Year – a particular year with reproductive event, Nipple.count – number of active nipples, Nesting type – C or S = Communal or solitary.
