Considerations on UAS-based In-situ Weather Sensing in Winter Precipitation Environments

Description

This dataset supports the article submitted to MDPI-Sensors: Advanced UAV-Based Sensor Technologies: 2nd Edition. The data was collected on APR/14/2023 at Marshall Field (CO), 1627 m above sea level; and in Oklahoma at the Mesonet calibration laboratory and its Washington station. It presents weather data from ground-based sensors and an  Unmanned Aerial Weather Measurement System (WxUAS).

#############INSIDE DATA.ZIP##############

- DataSheets - This folder presents the WxUAS sensor datasheets as used in the time of this research.

- GroundReferenceMarshallRaw - This folder has the files for the collocated ground-based Ceilometer, Disdrometer, and Instrumented Tower. The values in these files are raw and may require time zone adjustments.

- GroundReferenceMarshallRaw - This folder contains the files for Marshall Field's ground-based tower, ceilometer, and disdrometer. Each file contains data for the entire day.

- WxUASMarshallProfiles - This folder contains the files for the four WxUAS profiles presented in the article.

- WxUASMesonetHoverExperiment - This folder contains the files for the OK Mesonet hover experiment with a reference tower and the two WxUAS.

- WxUASMesonetLaboratoryExperiment - This folder contains the files for OK Mesonet controlled chamber experiment.
