Description
The Anti-Aligned Spin off GW191109: Glitch Mitigation and its Implications
This is the data release corresponding to the publication "The anti-aligned spin of GW191109: glitch mitigation and its implications" as release on ArXiV as arXiv:2409.03912 and in Physical Review D as [Phys. Rev. D 111, 024046](https://journals.aps.org/prd/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevD.111.024046).
Data Release Structure
This data release is split into three overarching directories.
`CommonData` includes data objects used in making the figures, or used by many analyses, including witness data, power spectral densities, and the CBC priors used by all `bilby` analyses.
`GW191109` contains configuration and result files for all analyses performed on GW191109 itself.
This has three sub-directories, corresponding to the three analysis codes used: `Bilby`, `Bayeswave`, and `TimeDomainInference`.
The `Bilby` directory is further separated into `NonMarginalizing` and `GlitchMarginalizing` directories, corresponding to the use of standard `bilby` and the `bilby_glitch` extension accordingly.
The Summary Table
To assist in navigating this release, we provide a summary file `SummaryTable.hdf5`.
This corresponds roughly to Table 1 in the publication, with the addition of configuration paths and result file paths.
Using This Release
The easiest to way to navigate the analyses in this release is to load the summary table using astropy:
import astropy.table as table
summary_table = table.Table.read("/path/to/data/release/SummaryTable.hdf5", path="summary_table")
Miscellaneous other information is also included which is not represented in this table, for lack of direct correspondence to Table 1 in the publication.
Hoft Data
Strain data was obtained from LVK public releases.
In particular, "Original" data was obtained from the gwosc portal for this event, while "Subtracted" data was obtained from the zenodo release of glitch subtracted strain data.
Simulated data was generated using the bilby `generation-seed` argument, with an initial seed of 1234.
Miscellaneous Notes
- For runs 1, 8, and 9 bilby was run with the `coherence-test` argument, which automatically generates single detector results. Accordingly, they all share a configuration file.
- Injection.json gives the injected parameters of the 100 simulations, in order.
- cached_data.json gives the Bayeswave data settings for Run20 and Run21
