Description

This repository contains the codebase for continuum subtraction of H-alpha HST narrowband images, with additional support for background and [NII] contamination corrections using MUSE data. The workflow is optimized for enabling accurate emission line flux extraction for the H-alpha line, however, this could in principal be use on any emission line/filter combination, and other telescopes. This code is particularly suited for studies of star formation and stellar feedback in nearby galaxies, but again would be easiliy expanable to other science cases.

The package includes modules for preprocessing, error propagation, background matching, and spectral line correction. It supports running with or without MUSE data, allowing flexibility for datasets with varying levels of supplementary observations. The pipeline is designed for integration into structured directory setups, ensuring reproducibility.

With modular components and clear instructions, the code can be reused or adapted for related data analysis pipelines.

Key features:

• Continuum subtraction for HST narrowband images.

• Optional integration with MUSE data for background and [NII] corrections.

• Flexible pipeline supporting structured directory inputs.

• Compatibility with a variety of instruments and filters.
